1/22/07 New show announcement (well, not really). The folks at the Emergenza festival were kind enough to finally let us know whether or not we were playing next month, so here's another helping of quasi-blasphemous advertising:

10/30/2006 Hey it's been awhile! We're still alive and kicking, though. We're busy indoctrinating our new drummer. More details on that to come. Ben's brother Tim has joined the band on guitar, and his bio is up. We'll be playing out soon, so clear your calendars. That is all. We now return you to your regularly scheduled mouth-shooting. Happy Halloween, pukes.

8/10/2006 New marching orders for the Martyrs Brigade. Nothing else new for you other pukes.

8/07/2006 All kinds of business has been a-poppin' over at the Martyr Camp. We have new merch coming out, a street team which you can e-mail us about to join, thanks to give for two shows we had in the last two weeks (to Hellisher, Caliga, Scorched, Koresh and Colossus), and a brand new show over at the White Hawk. Check out this lurid flyer:

So come out to the show. You wouldn't want us to find out you didn't. We might blow up your house or kill your mom. 21 and over, so sorry kids, you can't come in. But we might end up killing your mom anyway, so that's a bonus.

Allow me also to let you know about our backdrop contest. If you can make us a backdrop/flag for our live performance (since we lost our old one somehow, that the mighty Clint of Fight Machine fame made for us), you'll get all kinds of goodies: a CD, t-shirts (with an "s", as in multiple), admission to shows for free and membership in the Martyr's Brigade. What self-respecting acolyte would ask for anything more? E-mail us if you're interested.

7/09/2006 The show on July 6th, 2006 was definitely the best in recent memory. We would like to thank Jordan Decay, Refuse the Dirt, Singine, Reinforced, and the mighty Agnes Wired for Sound, bloodied but unbroken. To all those who showed, thanks for your support, concern and love, in the celebration of the life of our fallen comrade, Benjamin David Bloom. To all those who didn't: you really, really missed out. Here are master-photog Russ' pictures of the event:

Ben's Memorial Concert Photos

It's been awhile since that kind of show has happened. Let's make sure something like it happens again, under less tragic circumstances.

7/05/2006 Holy smokes, kiddies! It's been a little while since I last updated, but have we got some news for you! We've been so consarned busy with shows this month and last, but I've finally managed to get it together to make a list of all the bands we've played with and would like to thank. Thanks to Requiem, Scorched, Hyperion Fallen for their magnificent performances! Be sure to come down to Garfield Artworks to pay tribute to our departed brother, Ben Bloom of Agnes Wired for Sound . The show starts at 7 pm.

6/01/2006 Look who's got the front seats to the Mexican hat dance now! We've just confirmed the location for our show with Scorched and Hyperion Fallen on June 22nd. Logan's in Oakland! See the Shows page for more details. And check out the flyer:

Also, more details about our show with Scorched at Excuses on August 4th. Embludgeoned has been added to the line-up. Steel yourself for a savage beating!

5/22/2006 For personal reasons, we are no longer using our real names on this website. To those who already know them, good for you. For those who don't, sorry about your luck.

5/21/2006 Well children, I want to thank everyone who came out to the show on Thursday on such miserably short notice. It was quite a memorable event, with all bands giving their all. We'd like to give a shout out to Grave Desire for kicking ass and taking names, and to Urn, for putting on another slamming performance. Our thanks to those guys, you guys and the lovely folks at the 31st Street Pub for putting us on the bill at such short notice and putting up with us. An extra special thank you goes out to Cyndi for showing up and taking photos of us (which will be posted soon). If anyone else has photos they'd like to share, feel free to e-mail them to us here. For those of you who missed out, you'll get your chance in the coming months, as we've got a ton of shows in the offing. Stay tuned for more demonic offerings from our practice space as we record yet more crushing demos with which to pollute the internet. And, uh, don't eat junk food.

5/14/2006 Oh, we've really put the pin in the party hog this time! We've just gotten ourselves onto a show this Thursday, May 18th at the 31st Street Pub. It's with Chicago Goth Metallers Urn and local boys Grave Desire. Come check us out! It'll be DM's first appearance at the Pub, and worth your bloody while! More details in the Shows Section.

5/11/2006 Time for this week's weekly update. Me and the boys are shoring up some of the new material, getting ready to record a new song "Love Conquers Nothing," as well as a little cover-poo for all the bad little boys and girls who come to our concerts. Also, for the last time, we are ready and available to play shows, so stop pretending like you didn't know, and let's get something together! Speaking of which, we've been offered a few spots to play at the Western Pennsylvania Musicians' Group, July 3 and Labor Day Weekend. Also, Ralph Sr. has been good enough to put us on his festival in the South Side on July 29th and 30th. More details as we get 'em, so keep your eyes out.

Also, for those diligent few who were brave enough to find the new song: Kudos! I hope that you've eaten and drank your fill, because I'm going to be taking that song down and putting a new one in it's place, also secreted somewhere in the labyrinthine confines of this most darksome website. So prep your collective recta for it, for it too is lurking nearby in the darkness... 'Nuff Said!

5/4/2006 We have a little game for you, kiddies! Somewhere on this site is a demo version of a brand new song "I am Become Death." It's somewhere on this site. Get out there and search, dammit! Ben's bio has also been updated.

5/1/2006 Updated Mike's bio, set placer for the second coming of Ben. Please note my special disclaimer found therein those two locations, respectively.

4/26/2006 Happy's learned to putt. Uh oh. That's right, kiddies. Your old pal Dean is now doing the updates. That means I don't wait for anyone else to put up my stream of consciousness, I can do it all by my lonesome. Let's look at what's changed:

New Guitarists Mike and Ben have come into the fold. Their bios and pics are coming soon.

The history has been updated, with a section paying homage to former members: The Martyrs Brigade!

Yes, I'm still programming drums, because mortal drummers can't hack it. If you think you can, email us at darkmartyr@darkmartyr.com. Be advised that you'd better be serious.

There are new demo versions of 3 songs recorded for your perusal on the downloads page.

New Lyrics and an updated Discography are now available.
